Interview with Lisaraye
Lisaraye: I modeled in Chicago first. Then, I did an indie film, moved to LA, and six months later I got cast in the lead of the Player’s Club—the rest is history.
What is it like working with the cast of "All of Us"?
Lisaraye: The cast is smaller now and I'm the only female. Preparation time for shooting is cut down, but this leaves me more screen time!
We see that you love to wear white. Is it because it’s your favorite color or does it represent something else?
Lisaraye: It’s simply because white is easy, clean, crisp, fresh, and alive. It became easier to wear it because it catches your eye and doesn’t waste brain power on what colors go with what. I just feel like an angel.
Who are some of your closest friends in the industry?
Lisaraye: Vivica A. Foxx, Mo’nique, Steve Harvey, Jamie Foxx, Da Brat (my sister).
In your role as Diamond in The Player’s Club, would you say that you and Diamond are similar or totally different? And why?
Lisaraye: Every woman has a little of Diamond in them: You set goals & achieve them. Have a plan. Be no nonsense. Make your money, don’t let it make you.
You are considered one of the most beautiful to appear on screen. Do you embrace being a sex symbol?
Lisaraye: Absolutely. It’s being graceful and bringing some presence to your character and who you are.
What’s the craziest thing you have ever done?
Lisaraye: I flew overseas for one day to spend with my daughter for dinner. In Paris. Everything else falls under me doin’ what I gotta do and making it happen!
Is there anything special you would like to say to your fans?
Lisaraye: I so feel the love. It helps motivate me and allows me to want to do more because I understand I have a voice and style people look for and gain inspiration from.
